NPR's Tiny Desk Concert With David Russell
I'm not sure how many readers are familiar with NPR's Tiny Desk Series. For those that don't know, it is a series that takes place behind a tiny desk in at NPR headquarters. Whenever I watch one I feel like I am sitting down at my local library absorbing the music from a local musician with about twenty other people. But, in this case, it is the one and only David Russell.
David Russell Behind A Tiny Desk
I think do not think many would argue about the talent and dedication of this great player. He is one of only a few to be awarded a Grammy for his playing (you can search Google the others). I don't think he ever wanted a desk job though. He plays beautifully, as always, I like this intimate setting because of the humanity you can see in his playing and his talking.
If you have not ever seen this video, then take twenty minutes to enjoy the mini-concert. If you have seen this before, then take twenty minutes and enjoy this mini-concert. So there's one option, take twenty minutes and enjoy this mini-concert.
BTW: David Russell won a Grammy for the album Aire Latino: Latin American Music for Guitar. If you don't own it, then you should.
